Why can't I use leverage?
If you are unable to increase the leverage of a trade, here are some possible reasons:
- CFD trading is not permitted in your country of residence: All positions with leverage are traded as CFDs, which are not permitted for some types of assets under some national laws and by the regulators governing some TBanque clients’ accounts.
- Temporary limitations are in place: If the market of the asset you want to trade is displaying extremely high volatility or low liquidity, we may disable the option to use leverage on new positions to protect our clients from significant losses. Click here to find out more.
- You do not have enough financial knowledge and trading experience: For regulatory reasons, CFD trading is allowed based on the information you provide in the ‘Experience and Objectives’ questionnaire when you complete your profile. If your answers indicate that you do not understand the risks of CFD trades, we prevent your account from opening them.
EU Disclaimer: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 68% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
